Title: Increased Profitability Using Low Doses of Herbicide with Supplementary Weeding in Smallholdings
Author: Versteeg, M. N.
Maldonado, D.
Appeared in: International journal of pest management
Paging: Volume 24 (1978) nr. 3 pages 327-332
Year: 1978-09-01
Contents: The application of pre-emergence herbicides at low dosage rates in combination with manual weeding reduces weeding costs for smallholders by about 40% as compared to hand weeding or to herbicide application at the recommended rate. Moreover, the combined method appears to be safer with respect to climatic influences and phytotoxic effects. Results obtained from field trials on experimental farms are discussed.
