  Structural integrity assessment and testing

Title: Structural integrity assessment and testing
Author: van Prooijen, Ria J. L.
de Winter, Peter E.
Appeared in: International journal on injury control and safety promotion
Paging: Volume 3 (1996) nr. 1 pages 31-38
Year: 1996-03-01
Contents: PROBLEM DEFINITION The structural integrity of products in general should be assessed by objective criteria. In the case of products with which children come into contact, forces that children can apply should be taken into account. Although many (draft) standards currently contain strength requirements, their basis is not always clear and they lack consistency. A general method of load selection and application has been developed for playground equipment. It was expected that for child use and care products in general a method may be developed for formulating requirements and tests for the structural integrity of such products.
