Title: Fundamental aspects of industrial site decommissioning
Author: Al-Hashimi, A.
Nadafi, F.
Appeared in: International journal of environmental studies
Paging: Volume 57 (2000) nr. 5 pages 515-524
Year: 2000-08
Contents: Closure of industrial plants because of different reasons such as market conditions, technological development, environmental concerns and aging manufacturing facilities is very common in Canada. Thus, decommissioning and clean-up of industrial sites are increasingly in demand. Site decommissioning projects involve a wide matrix of engineering, legal, and workers safety practices. In this case study, important aspects of decommissioning of a major printed circuit board manufacturing facility in Scarborough, Ontario, are presented.
