A crank-line antenna is investigated for use as a dual circular polarization element. The current distribution along the antenna is obtained using the method of moments, and the dimensions of the radiation cell are optimized for the crankline antenna to radiate a circularly polarized wave in the broadside direction. The theoretical frequency responses of the gain, axial ratio, VSWR, and input port isolation are presented. It is found that an input port isolation of more than 20dB is obtained over a 4% bandwidth. |
