Contents: The problem of discrete-time block non-interacting control with internal exponential stability is treated. By identifying the linearized fixed modes common to every non-interactive closed loop, a necessary condition for achieving an exponentially stable solution to the problem is provided. Also, through a special decomposition of the given system, a sufficient condition is obtained. Owing to peculiarities intrinsic to discrete-time non-linear systems, the development of the solution is not completely parallel to that of the solution for the class of continuous-time systems.
