Under the term bimetals in electrical engineering one usually understands the thermobimetals which bend under the effect of heat. In general every physical effect can cause a bending effect, if the change of the dimensions of the two components under that effect is different. The object of this article is the bimetals which when placed in a magnetic field bend depending on the magnitude of the magnetic field intensity H due to the difference in the magnetostriction coefficients of the two metal components. |
