In this paper we have considered the feasibility of improving the efficiency and reliability of the Controlled Random Search Method of Price [12] by introducing certain modifications in their original version. Four modified versions of the algorithm have been considered and a numerical study undertaken on a set of standard test examples to ascertain their reliability and efficiency. Certain conclusions based on the present study are also reported. |
