  God's Mysterious Ways

Title: God's Mysterious Ways
Author: Reimer, Naomi
Appeared in: international journal of children's spirituality
Paging: Volume 8 (2003) nr. 1 pages 75-77
Year: 2003-04
Contents: During the Second International Conference on Children's Spirituality in Haifa, Israel, Cathy Ota and I discussed multiple intelligence and children's use of language to express experiences of the divine. I had noted to Cathy my concern that some children in spirituality research may be misunderstood simply because they express themselves more effectively in writing than in speech, and that this was probably true of my introverted 9-year old daughter Naomi. Cathy suggested that I ask Naomi to write a story of her spiritual experiences. Naomi has done this, recounting an event that to her was indicative of God's protective power in helping to safeguard children from danger. Apparently the recounted event is intact, although the author evidently took some liberties with her characters. The story is entirely Naomi's and describes an experience that was previously unknown to her parents.
