We describe how global error bounds for quadrature rules may be incorporated into the method for the numerical approximation of multiple integrals by means of product cubature rules. This approach (a) allows one to choose in advance the accuracy to which the numerical approximation of the multiple integral is required and (b) requires only one application of the product cubature rule to achieve this accuracy. |
