A Microcomputer Assisted Apparatus for the Measurement of Luminescence Decay Curve

Title: A Microcomputer Assisted Apparatus for the Measurement of Luminescence Decay Curve
Author: Kato, Kenji
Sugitani, Yoshinori
Appeared in: Instrumentation science & technology
Paging: Volume 11 (1981) nr. 1 pages 85-104
Year: 1981
Contents: A very flexible and inexpensive luminescence decay curve measuring apparatus which has a microcomputer as a main constituent is described. The apparatus has two measuring modes, time correlated single photon counting (spc) mode and multi-channel photon counting (mcpc) mode, hence it realizes extensive applicability in wide range of luminescence decay time even with weak intensity. In spc mode, inhibit function facilitates the high counting rate. The microcompute contains data processing programs, averaging, back ground subtraction and logarithmic conversion, which are respectively or co-operatively available for the data processing, and final and intermediate resultant can be displayed either on XY-recorder or XY-oscilloscope. Decay time data on several synthetic uranium micas and doped samples are reported.
