The fragmentation of social housing services is most frequently discussed in terms of changing central-local relationships, and the dwindling powers of local authorities. Meanwhile, local housing services are now planned and provided through networks of organisations, necessitating the development and maintenance of effective cooperative interorganisational relationships. This paper charts the growing importance of these links, and their association with the increasing use of interorganisational network approaches to policy coordination in the public sector in general, arguing for more research on the operation of interorganisational networks in social housing. |
