The thermodynamic properties of the A1C60 (A = K, Rb, Cs) alkali fullendes have been studied by conventional and modulated differential scanning calorimetry. The Gibbs free energies and the stability ranges of the monomer, dimer, and polymer phases are determined. The kinetics of phase transformation is investigated, and the mechanisms of polymerization and phase separation are identified.
