Motion or Extended Defects in Crystals Experiencing a Phase Transition

Title: Motion or Extended Defects in Crystals Experiencing a Phase Transition
Author: Korzhenevskii, Alexander L.
Bausch, Richard
Schmitz, Rudi
Appeared in: Ferroelectrics
Paging: Volume 267 (2002) nr. 1 pages 385-390
Year: 2002
Contents: It is shown that moving elastic extended defects, such as domain walls, twin boundaries and dislocations may experience morphological instability at sufficiently high velocity. The apparent universal character of the phenomenon is used to exemplify it by the simple scenario of a moving domain boundary which is coupled to Ginzburg-Landau field of the bulk material.
