Contents: Possibilities of holographic technique for 3d scanning of ferroelectric domain structures are demonstrated. A necessary condition for application of this technique is the presence of the photorefractive effect with non-local response. In this case the direction of energy transfer between interacting beams is different in opposite 180° domains. The sign of energy transfer can be measured on the crystal area limited by the cross-section of the interacting beams. Scanning over the sample permits to obtain the spatial distribution of gain coefficient which is determined by a domain structure. By using this technique the uniaxial Sn2P2S6 ferroelectrics were studied, and the domain patterns were obtained as result.
