Educational interventions for infants and pre-school children with cerebral palsy: methodological difficulties and future directions in evaluation research

Title: Educational interventions for infants and pre-school children with cerebral palsy: methodological difficulties and future directions in evaluation research
Author: Woolfson, Lisa H.
Appeared in: European journal of special needs education
Paging: Volume 14 (1999) nr. 3 pages 240-253
Year: 1999-10
Contents: As well as taking into account assessment of children's needs and parental wishes and matching these to local provision, professionals involved in placement decisions on the suitability of available educational interventions for individual pre-schoolers with cerebral palsy, and those designing and planning interventions, need to base their advice and practice on empirical evidence. Ten evaluation studies of educational interventions for infants and pre-school children with cerebral palsy are presented. Methodological difficulties are identified and the value of the emphasis on traditional child progress measures is questioned. Directions for future research are identified.
