A SIMPLIFIED PROCEDURE FOR THE ECONOMIC DESIGN OF CONTROL CHARTS: A UNIFIED APPROACH

Title: A SIMPLIFIED PROCEDURE FOR THE ECONOMIC DESIGN OF CONTROL CHARTS: A UNIFIED APPROACH
Author: Chung, Kun-Jen
Appeared in: Engineering optimization
Paging: Volume 17 (1991) nr. 4 pages 313-320
Year: 1991-06-01
Contents: A simple procedure for selecting the optimal economic design of a control chart for a single assignable cause system is presented. The procedure consists only of solving an explicit equation for h (sampling interval) in terms of n (sample size) and L (control limit factor). We conclude that our model is not only more accurate, more applicable, and more flexible, but also simpler to solve than Lorenzen and Vance's Model3.
