The delegation of funds for special educational needs has resulted in the drawing up of schemes In which funding levels are allocated to pupils. The current position In this field Is outlined, and the lack of specific criteria for defining levels In the field of emotional and behaviour difficulties is pointed out. Research on defining levels of severity of these difficulties is summarised and its implications for LEAs identified. Two related proposed schemes involving Identification of funding levels for EBD through specific criteria are described, and possible implications for practice suggested. |
