Diffraction effects in the lit region of an inhomegeneous plasma are considered. The first effect is conditioned by the influence of the region where the permittivity of smoothly inhomogeneous plasma is near to zero for E-wave (∇ εE≠0) propagation. This effect is taken into account by special modification of geometrical optics. The second effect arises from the small size of an overdense core. It is investigated by asymptotic and numerical methods. |
