The authors compare the performance of two permanent magnet synchronous motors fed by voltage inverter. The two machines differ in the means of holding the magnets. For one rotor, the magnets are held by a conductive shrink ring, for the other one by fibreglass tape. The influence of the conductivity of the shrink ring is analysed, not only in terms of the losses caused, but also in terms of operation modification |
