The spatial Fourier integral technique is used to calculate the secondary field in the airgap of a finite length SSLIM. The calculations are based on the results obtained for the infinite-length counterpart of the machine. The method proposed by Schieber is used in order to avoid the computation of inverse Fourier transforms. The calculated quantities yield the output relations for forces, power and airgap efficiency; end effects are incorporated through this technique. |
