Inhoud: For harmonic analysis, as part of regular transmission system planning studies, it is not practically possible to analyze a large transmission network because of engineering effort and time limitations. Out of many available alternatives, selecting one planning alternative is a cumbersome exercise. Using the adjoint network technique, a methodology is developed for componentwise sensitivity and System Sensitivity Index for each alternative. The desired results are achieved with only two system solutions, which considerably reduces the engineering time and increases dependability of results. The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) transmission system has been studied to demonstrate the method. Comparison of planned alternatives and effects of planned changes have been studied. This work will provide transmission system planners and designers an efficient and economical tool for selecting one alternative out of different available options.
