Contents: This paper outlines the development o-f a larger rating special purpose induction regulator for use in microprocessor based high-voltage test system. In general, one can identify several applications, for which an overview is given at the end. Specifically, major design considerations were touched upon in brief to make the design economical for efficient operation. While considering the general utility and reliability of operation of the equipment, the operational advantages are also highlighted. The concept of new delta-winding for a closer and wider control of output voltage, starting from fraction of volts is the vital issue brought out in this paper. An actual model was analysed for scrutiny of various test parameters and they are being discussed.
