The paper provides equations for the sizing procedure of a single-sided linear induction motor (LIM), i.e. the output coefficient, the dimensions of the primary stack and the reaction rail, the line current density. the airgap magnetic flux density and the efficiency x power factor product. The output equation links the electric and magnetic loading with the general design data. Examples of calculations of the main dimensions of two LIMs have been included. |
