Tertiary capacitor tuning in the stator of the schrage machine is developed to increase the air gap mmf, improve the generating and motoring efficiency and power factor, increase the full-load torque of the machine, and keep the machine as a wide range speed transducer. The system analysis based on a developed equivalent circuit is given with experimental verification. The analysis and characteristic curves show the effect of the brush axis variation. The advantages of tertiary capacitor tuning over brush axis shifting are shown. |
