The basic equations for the dynamic behavior of synchronous machines are derived by using space-phasors. The curves of the stator current space-phasor at different waveforms as they occur when fed by an inverter are drawn in the d-q-plane. From these curves the behavior of the damper currents is derived using mathematical equations in a closed form. The space-phasor curves of the damper currents drawn in the d-q-plane allow a good physical understanding of the current loading and current performance of each rotor bar. A parameter variation shows the influence of rotor resistance and speed. |
