This paper Investigates the possibility of enhancing system steady state stability at light loads. Enhancement is achieved by Installing power system stabilizer and/or static inductive shunt reactors. The locations of these counter measures are determined using concepts of modal analysis. The impact of these counter measures on steady state stability performance is demonstrated by an application to the Saudi Consolidated Electric Company Central Region (SCECO-C) Power System. |
