Contents: This article describes and discusses intervention strategies to be used for achieving eight major goals in early childhood programs. Goals encompass the areas of individual, social, cognitive, and physical development of the child. The effect of intervention strategies on program development, instructional techniques, and classroom management guidelines is delineated and discussed. The importance of a variety of materials and activities and of positive classroom models is substantiated throughout.
