It is shown that a velocity feedback at a part of the boundary of a vibrating viscoelastic membrane, which is assumed to be clamped along the rest of the boundary, is sufficient to increase the rate of decay of the viscoelastic energy. This is true even for material with a very weak viscoelastic damping. |
