Initial and boundary value problems are studied for system (1) below with λ > 1 for a half-infinite barand a half space in Rn + 1, respectively. This system is non-parabolic for λ > 1 because the right-hand side operator is not strongly elliptic. Fourier transform techniques are used after reducing the initial problem to some for a system of ordinary differential equations. The boundary value problem is treated utilizing the heat transfer equation. |
