Let S be a Mobius transformation which has two fixed points, say a and b in [image omitted]. Without loss of generality we may assume that a is an attracting fixed point and b is a repelling fixed point of S. We are interested in finding meromorphic solutions f of the following functional equation [image omitted] where k ≥ 2. We show that for a given complex number α distinct from a and b, there exists a unique solution which fixes α, a, and b. We also show that the Julia sets of rational solutions are circles on the sphere. |
