A rigorous numerical method is developed for a two parameter problem of finding the conformal mapping of the unit disc onto a symmetric circular arc quadrilateral with orthogonal boundary arcs. The numerical method employs a double secant method over a feasible domain determined by solving or estimating an inequality relating to the Schwarz norm of the Schwarzian derivative of a mapping onto a circular arc quadrilateral. A criterion is given which can be used to test numerically whether or not a solution obtained by the numerical method is univalent. |
