Lumsden, D. Barry
Verschenen in: Community college journal of research and practice
Paginering: Jaargang 5 (1981) nr. 2 pagina's 121-127
Jaar: 1981-01
Inhoud: In this paper are discussed the discrete relationships between the researcher and that which is being researched. The relationships are identified as either elliptical, epicentric, or centroidal. Unacceptable dissertations are the products of researcher/concern relationships that are elliptical or epicentric in nature. Acceptable dissertations are those associated with a centroidal relationship between research and that which is to be studied. Additional characteristics of acceptable and unacceptable dissertation research are cited for discussion. Parts 2 and 3 of this trilogy will treat the qualitative and quantitative aspects of dissertation research, respectively.
