This study examined the opinions of 108 community college chief student affairs officers. The critical dependent variable was whether student affairs offices should offer remedial instruction. Through examination of personal and institutional variables, two opposing opinions emerged one for student affairs offering remediation and the other against. Few characteristics significantly influenced this difference of opinion. The result is a snapshot of a profession generally philosophically divided on one of the key services of the modern community college. |
