Students and faculty were surveyed concerning their attitudes toward the use of interactive videodisc technology in the classroom. Results are presented in three sections: faculty perceptions of the technology, level of student interest in different instructional strategies, and reaction to a videodisc presentation in the humanities. Results indicate that students and faculty who viewed interactive videodisc presentations were quite impressed with the technology. Survey responses documented that demonstrations were highly effective and that students would like to see more presentations based on videodisc libraries. Future studies, however, should focus more on the potential the system has for generating discussion and for providing flexibility in presentations. |
