Inhoud: This study presents an in-depth examination of the articulation and transfer process of two-year college students to four-year colleges and universities. The primary purpose was to identify categories of information needed for the development of an articulation and transfer information model. The model addresses categories of information regarding frequency of need, potential use, and relative importance. In addition to written documentation, such as policy statements, three interview schedules were developed to gather data from two-year college staff, two-year college students preparing to transfer and for students who had transferred from a two-year college and were enrolled in a four-year institution. These interviews were conducted at each of Alabama's 21 publicly-supported junior and community colleges. The model as developed contains 12 major and 17 subsidiary categories of information.
