A new result for the distribution function of non-central chi-square with even degrees of freedom is obtained in which the difference between the complement of the latter function and the complement of the corresponding function for central chi-square is represented as an infinite series such that each term in the series is the product of a Poisson probability and a distribution function of central chi-square with even degrees of freedom and with the non-centrality parameter as the argument.Equlvaiently, the distribution runction or non-centrai chi-square with; even degrees of freedom is represented as an infinite series such that each term in the series is the product of a Poisson probability and the complement of a distribution function of central chi-square with even degrees of freedom and with the non-centrality parameter as the argument. A simple upper bound for the truncation error in the first series is derived |
