Suppose independent random sampls are drawn from k normal populations with unknown and possibly different means and variances. The pupulatioon. corresponding to the largest sample mean is selected as the best population. We consider estimation of quantiles of the selected population when the loss function is taken to he the squared error. Admissibility and inadmissibility of a natural estimator for the quantile is investigated in certain subclasses of linear and affine equivariant estimators. |
