A class of distribution-free tests for the k-sample location problem is proposed. The proposed class of test statistics is based on a oinear combination of two -sample U statistics proposed by Shetty and Bhat (1994). The optimal wseights are determined and the optimum values of subsample size for which the test attains maximum efficacy are obtained. Some ARE Comparisons are made. |
