Title: Inverse sampling: a composite approach
Author: Raychaudhuri, Aparna
Kannan, Nandini
Appeared in: Communications in statistics
Paging: Volume 25 (1996) nr. 5 pages 1033-1042
Year: 1996
Contents: This article describes a two-stage composite sampling scheme to locate a fixed number of rare items in a sample. A recursion formula is developed to compute the expected costs associated with this sampling scheme. The two-stage scheme is shown to be cost effective when compared with the traditional method of individual testing.
