The analysis of data generated from multi-factor experiments has traditionally relied on a transformation of the data to achieve a constant variance. This procedure not only changes the shape of the response surface, possibly Leading to erroneous interpretations, but also Leads to estimators possessing Larger variances than those available for the analysis of the untrans-formed data.This paper deals with the design, and analysis of experiments utilizing untransformed data when the variance of the response changes from one point in the experimental region to anothero We will begin our discussion with an example using a Poisson response. |
