By deriving the second order moments of the sample semi-variogram for a Gaussian doubly geometric process on a regular lattice and by using a suitable normalizing transformation, we construct tests of symmetry which should have wider application than through a likelihood ratio approach. The extension to a test of isotropy is discussed. |
