The problem of Weibull parameters estimation with grouped data is considered. Simple estimators are proposed and their asymptotic properties are derived. A Monte Carlo study showed that these estimates are more efficient than most of the other commonly used estimates. Furthermore, the conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the maximum likelihood estimates for the Weibull parameters are given in terms of the number of nonempty groups and group limits. |
