Dion and Fridshal (1982) published a conjecture which relates the quantiles of independent X2 random variables with the quantiles of the “appropriate” F distribution.For the case of equal degrees of freedom we prove the conjecture (even more generally).For the case of unequal degrees of freedom the problem is more complicated and we present some analytical and numerical results. |
