Consider a finite population with N elements. Assume that a random sample of size n is taken from this population m times. These m samples each of size n drawn without replacement, are drawn with replacement. In this paper, the probability function of the number of the unobserved elements of the population, denoted by S, is obtained and showed that the asymptotic distribution of S is normal as N and m tends to infinity with [image omitted] , using the method of moments. A representation of S as a sum of independent Bernoulli random variables is obtained and using this representation the limiting distribution of S is considered. |
