Three basic criteria, determinant, trace and maximum root, are in common use for determining optimality of experimental designs. Here examples are presented where the three criteria give rise to different designs. The examples are balanced resolution IV* of the 2m series and are particularly insightful with respect to the dependence of the criteria on the correlation between estimators of the parameters. |
