In this paper we introduce two discrete random variables, derived from rounding the negative exponential and Weibull distributions. These rounded distributions may be widely used in the context of many discrete event simulation experiments, in which observations are collected at regularly spaced times. We illustrate the application of these distributions to a set of discretized tanker arrival dates. |
