We consider a situation where the random variables (X1, X2, …, Xn) are such that (n-1) of them are independent and indentically distributed with a probability density function (p.d.f.) [image omitted] , x > 0, σ > 0, and with probability [image omitted] , the remaining one is distributed with p.d.f. f(x, σ/α), 0 < α ≤ 1. We will study the behaviour of the Bayesian estimators of the nuisance parameter, mean life and the reliability function under different prior distributions of α and σ. The corresponding solutions when the p.d.f. of X's are g(x, μ) = exp{-(x-μ)}, x ≥ μ and g(x, μ+δ). δ ≥ 0, will aslo be outlined.
