This paper gives a wider generization to, and has evolved from, Andrews' article. The suggested approximating formulae are applicable on more distributions than was considered by Andrews. The family of distributions for which the approximated area equals to the exact area is included. Our numerical values are more precise than those of Andrews because his work was done in an era when computing facilities were not as well developed as they are now. The results derived here are applied to several examples. Moreover, some numerical calculations are given to compare the relative errors of the suggested approximating formulae. |
