Cramer-Rao type bounds are generalized for estimators of abstract parameters. A definition of efficiency is given and it is shown that the empirical distribution function is unbiased and efficient under some conditions on the parameter space. This is used to study the existence of UMVUE's of parameters of the type θ=h(x) dF(x). It is shown that under certain assumptions, the variance of the U statistics with kernel of degree m attains the m-th Bhattacharyya bound. The completeness of order statistics in the exchangeable case is shown |
