According to Staton and Tomlinson (2001), “service learning allows students to apply what they are learning from their instructors, peers, and readings to genuine tasks that occur outside the four walls of a classroom while simultaneously helping others” (p. 211). This service-learning project allows students the opportunity to learn reflectively while fostering involvement in the community in which they live. |
